AO partners with Facephi to strengthen its banking technology offering

AO has partnered with Spanish digital identity specialist Facephi to strengthen the identity verification and know-your-customer (KYC) capabilities it can offer banks and financial institutions.

The partnership supports AO’s strategy of bringing together complementary technologies around the banking customer: enabling payments, verifying identity, monitoring transactions and developing a better understanding of customer behaviour.

Facephi adds the identity component to this offering. Its technology complements AO’s card and payments capabilities and its work with Tazama on transaction monitoring to support fraud detection and anti-money-laundering activities.

Alongside these partnerships, AO is developing its own behavioural banking product. The product is being designed to draw on customer identity information and transaction data to build insights into account activity and customer behaviour.

The Facephi relationship therefore represents an important addition to AO’s banking proposition. It strengthens the identity foundation alongside the transaction information needed to support AO’s broader approach.

For AO, the partnership marks a further step in building a connected offering for banks, combining specialist international technology with AO’s development, integration and delivery capabilities.
