What was on the table
AO required a practical way to connect Odoo commerce journeys to an established online payment gateway while maintaining confidence and control across the payment lifecycle. The integration needed to support more than the initial checkout: transaction outcomes had to be reflected reliably in Odoo, while operational scenarios such as refunds, tokenised payments and manual capture also had to be accommodated without compromising payment integrity.
How we approached it
AO engineered a custom payment-gateway module that connected Odoo commerce workflows to the Adumo Online API. Built using Python and Odoo's web framework, the module provided a structured connection between checkout, gateway communication and Odoo's transaction records. JWT supported authenticated API communication, while PostgreSQL-backed application data allowed payment states and related commerce activity to remain aligned within the Odoo environment.
